There's an old covered bridge down by the swimming hole
A place where I can take you - only if you want to go
Buried down there is a rusted can of worms
Don't dig them up - they're better off alone
And just down the road where the barn fell to the flame
It's where the shots rang and the old man took the blame
We could walk past there a thousand more times
And never quite feel all his pain
This is my home
A place where I can belong
A place where my soul can't do without
This is my home
Down the once broken path all the kids had their cigarettes
It lead to no good - Just like their mother said
It all came to light when they flew on their bikes in their heads
And I can show you the place where the green van pulled off the road
They tied up that man - left him for dead ya know
But I'd rather keep walking just like I did way back then
This is my home
A place where I can belong
A place where my soul can't do without
This is my home
Not much to be proud of but it's all that I have
The good things keep shining through all of that bad
There's an old covered bridge down by the swimming hole
Let's take off our clothes and jump in to the cold
We don't have to tell anybody about this place
This is my home
A place where I can belong
A place where my soul can't do without
This is my home
